Even though you may be X size in shoes does NOT mean you will be that same size when choosing a skate!
Every skate brand has its own sizing chart and some even have a different sizing chart for different skates within the same brand.
For this reason we HIGHLY recommend measuring your feet and comparing the measurements to the size chart for the skate of your choosing PRIOR to making a purchase. Taking the time to do so will save you time and money.
Here is a basic guide to measuring your feet:
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- awesome socks
- a flat wall
- blank sheet of paper
- pencil
- ruler or measuring tape
- a friend who doesn't mind feet
STEP ONE:
Place the paper on the ground making sure the bottom edge is all the way up against a wall. Step onto the paper, making sure the heel of your foot is flush with wall.
STEP TWO:
Have your friend trace around the toe of your foot and apologize if your feet smell.
STEP THREE:
Using the ruler or measuring tape, measure from the bottom of the sheet of paper to the longest part of your toe area.*
*Most roller skate size charts use millimeter or "mondo" measurements so take the measurement in millimeters.
TIPS!
- If you have different sized feet, measure the longer foot
- Make sure to add a small amount of length to your measurement to allow for a little wiggle room in your skates (you don't want cramped toes)
- If you have wide feet or high arches take this into consideration when choosing your size
